Coastal road is temporarily closed - 4 February 2025

Due to ongoing rain, Council has been advised that the coastal road is temporarily closed. Please do not use this road until further notice.

Weather conditions are expected to deteriorate over the coming week, and we urge everyone to prepare for the possibility of a cyclone and flooding.

Please familiarise yourselves with the five Higher Places Zones and ensure you know the safest locations in your area. Pack your emergency backpacks ready with essential items such as medications, important documents, and anything else you may need in an emergency.

Stock up on non-perishable food, drinking water, batteries, and other supplies to prepare for potential power outages.

We encourage everyone to check in on family, friends, and neighbors, especially those who may need extra support. Stay prepared, stay safe, and look after one another. Let’s work together to keep Wujal community safe.

Remember, your safety comes first—don't drive through flooded waterways.
